In the past few months, there have been reports about counterfeited food products circulating in the industry such as "plastic rice," "fake chicken," and "fake fish." And now, this netizen warns parents on a favorite treat consumed by kids which is jelly candies.
The netizen claims that she has eaten a fake jelly treat although further confirmations from food agencies is still required. In her Facebook post, she warns people on the fake treats she believed it is made from plastic.
The Facebook user said that she experience stomachache after eating it and swore she has never eaten anything besides it.
Being an unpopular brand, the sweet treat is only labeled as "Jelly" and they don't know where the product came from. But netizens who gave comments on the post assumed that the product came from China.
In her video post, she squashed the treats and wash them off with water and showed everyone what was inside it. The jelly is said that it is made from plastic material.
She even said, "No wonder it feels weird after eating this treat- it's like chewing plastic in your mouth."
As a lesson to all, even though there are only a few claims about fake food products circulating in the industry, we must also be vigilant and careful on what we consume.
