She can be seen as a happy and funny person on screen. But the truth is, beside that face is a mom who is keeping her self strong despite the struggles she is facing as a mom to her child with special needs.
Candy Pangilinan is the Filipino actress known for her roles in television and film as a comedian.
But in real life, she shares her challenges of being a mother to her son, Quentin who is diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and autism.
On her interview in Magandang Buhay, Candy reveleaved that is was not easy for her to raise her child especially that her husband left them shortly after giving birth to their son.
When asked about her son, Candy said:
According to the actress, what hurts her the most is when she sees her son getting rejected and bullied for having special needs.
Quentin is still under the spectrum of autism but not totally full-blown autism since he has social skills and has ADHD with sensory integration problem.
Candy shared that when the time her doctor told her about her son's condition she said:
When I was going through theraphy with my child, doon ko na-realize na panghabambuhay pala 'to."
Another challenge for Candy is the financial aspect that they need in order to provide the needs of her child.
Despite the situation she is facing, she kept her faith strong in God and encourages parents to love their children even if they have imperfections.
