A lot of recent studies show that people who consume softdrinks on a regular basis increases the chance to serious health related issues.
Here are the negative effects of drinking carbonated drinks to one's health:
1. Dental Erosion / Tooth Decay
Sodas contains high acidity and the sugary ingredients of these drinks can damage the tooth enamel which will eventually lead to cavity buildup. In extreme cases, it will cause the teeth to rot inside and outside.
With the high sugar content of softdrinks, soda consumption increases also your calorie intake. If regularly consumed may result to gaining extra weight or obesity.
3. Skin Problems / Premature Aging
Consuming sodas dehydrates the skin emphasizing the appearanceof of fine lines and wrinkles. The phospate content found in sodas is a chemical agent that promotes early aging making skin look saggy and dull.
Replacing water with soda can only cause your body to become more dehydrated. Drinking soda while dehydrated will cause the body to become more acidic.
Carbonated drinks can cause the body's bones to weaken as these unhealthy drinks does not provide calcium that is required to keep bones strong.
6. Vitamin Deficiency
Sodas contains caffeine, which has a diuretic effect in the body. If you drink soda and then pee a lot, your body will start to flush out the nutrients and vitamins out of your system.
The caffeine content in sodas can lead to sleep deprivation which may later lead to anxiety. Each can or bottle of soda is equivalent to the caffeine in a cup of strong coffee.
8. Kidney Problems
If you think choosing a "zero-sugar cola" is safer, then you are wrong. Zero-colas contains artificial sweeteners that are way too unhealthy for the kidney. The high phosporic acid content in sodas are linked to the development of kidney stones and other liver problems.
