7 Things You Should Do When Your Phone Gets Wet!

Although some of the latest phones today are already waterproofed, there are still some that are not. And one of the worst nightmares you could ever imagine is when your phone accidentally gets soaked in water.

Whether you accidentally dropped it in a pool of water or gets soaked in the rain, there are still a few things you can do in order to save your phone. Fingers crossed, here are the few tips you can follow:

1. Take it our of the water quickly

When you dropped your phone in the water, the first response your body will do is to get it out of the water. But you should do this immediately, because every second matters. But if you dropped it somewhere down a deep water, NEVER risk your life for it.
2. Turn if off right away

When phones get soaked in water, they automatically shut off. So if in case your gadget did not turn off, do not hesitate to shut it down immediately or remove the battery. This will prevent your phone from further short circuits.
3. Remove phone cases or protective covers

It is important to remove plastic cases o protective covers in order to prevent your phone from further absorbing water. Also remove earphones, memory cards and other plugs in order to expose them to air drying.
4. Take out the battery and sim immediately

To prevent your phone from further damage, take out the battery to cut the power source. Though there some phones that does not let you remove the battery, skip this step. However, you might still be able to save your important contacts by removing the sim card. And let them dry on a paper towel or cloth.
5. Use a vacuum cleaner

If there is a vacuum cleaner available, try sucking the liquid out of the inner parts. This is the fastest method to completely dry out your phone in just minutes. But be careful not to hold it too close to the phone since it can create a static electricity. However, don't turn on your phone right away.
6. Place it in a bowl of uncooked rice or silica gel sachets

You might be wondering what could be the use of the silica gel sachets found on some of your purchased items. Here's the tip, you can use them to sip out moisture! Drying a phone with some towels does not allow you to reach inside the phone. Instead, place your wet phone in a bowl of uncooked rice or silica gel sachets. Leave it there for about two days to completely remove the moisture out of your phone.
7. After 2 days of drying... Have your fingers crossed and turn it on

lthough there is a 50/50 chance that your phone might still work after getting wet, there is no harm in trying to do this simple ways to save your phone. Just give your phone a two-day rest and resist the urge to turn in on immediately because water particles can still remain inside. And, have your fingers crossed! GOOD LUCK!
